Compared to these conventional 60 cells and 72 cells, 120 half-cell, 144 half-cell, 132 half-cell solar panels, there are smaller types of solar panels which often called as mini solar panels. These panels can come in sizes that range from 0.6 x 2.55 inches to 8.85 x 5.12 inches.


There are 3 coating options for the customized mini solar panel based on your requirements.


ETFE: Economical, waterproof and UV resistant, but shorter lifetime than urethane. Solar cells are attached to the substrate and then laminated under heat and pressure by EVA and ETFE. With high-quality materials (there is a difference in the production quality of ETFE and EVA), our ETFE solar panels have an expected life of 5-7 years outside.

Epoxy or PET: Panels made with these coatings will be inexpensive, but we don't recommend this coating for most industrial applications as it tends to have a relatively short lifetime. They are the least UV resistant of any of the options.

Glass: Great UV resistance and combined with a frame, a glass panel can have the longest lifetime. Glass panels are the heaviest on a per Watt basis.


How do mini solar panels work
When exposed to sunlight the photovoltaic cells in a solar panel receive energy which they absorb. They transfer the absorbed energy to the semiconductor which helps create an electric field which in turn delivers voltage and current. Voltage and current combine to deliver power as per the equation P (power) = V (voltage) x I (current). The power generated is measured in watts (W).
