NextEnergy Capital (NEC) has announced that its subsidiary, NextPower UK ESG (NPUK ESG), has signed a significant 20-year sleeved Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Llanwern Solar Farm, the largest operating solar farm in the UK.
The agreement covers 90% of the electricity generated by the 75MW facility, which can power approximately 20,606 homes annually.
Located in Newport, Wales, Llanwern Solar Farm spans 260 acres and represents one of NPUK ESG's first seed assets.
The PPA is a collaborative contract involving NPUK ESG, Anglian Water Services (AWS), EDF and SSE.
Under this arrangement, EDF will manage the power generated by the solar farm, ensuring that the energy output meets AWS's requirements, thus aiding AWS in achieving its decarbonisation targets.
