China National Energy Administration: 48.2GW Newly Installed Photovoltaic Capacity In 2020

On January 19, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption of the Chinese society for 2020.


In 2020, the Nation's newly installed capacity of power sources was 190.87 million kilowatts, including 13.23GW of hydropower, 71.67GW of wind power, and 48.2GW of solar power.


The following is the Cumulative PV capacity (GW), and Newly installed PV capacity (GW) from Year 2013 to Year 2020.

The data also points to a significant rush of new solar installs in December 2020, with as much as 23.3GW of new solar installed in that month alone.
